The Pants Capital of the Midwest 4.19.06 |

|
I don't know of another school that has a pep rally for the
spring game, that has live coverage (and an AP reporter in attendance)
for their intrasquad scrimmage draft, that has a three hour
preview the day before the three hour pregame show. They're
hoping for 50,000 plus people Saturday in Ohio Stadium; that would be
top 40 in the country for a regular season game. Schools like
Colorado, Kansas State, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Boston College, and The U
(Miami...Florida) all average less than that.
It may or may not be the Pants Capital of the Midwest, as 1460 claims. If you find another city that follows the day to day status of its local team's walk-on center and fourth string running back, though, I'd like to hear about it.
[editor's note: the official spring game attendance was 63,649, the most in the country this year by almost 20,000, and believed to be the most ever to attend a spring scrimmage in college football.] |
